Sarah Mass is an actor, theater maker, and educator originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Sarah has worked predominately in regional theatre, performing everything from Beckett to Brecht to brand-new plays… not to mention a whole lot of Shakespeare.

Sarah’s current theatrical homebase is Pasadena Playhouse, where she has used her decade of experience as a teaching artist to help the iconic institution build the new era of their Education Department and Youth and Family Programming. Sarah continues to develop and execute Tony-Award-Winning quality theatre education programs at the Playhouse, for students at every stage of life - from kindergartners to lifelong learners. You can read about it in the LA Times HERE!

Her current class offerings are Drama Book Club (for adults) and Theatermakers (ages 11-15).

Sarah’s trademark teaching style uses her skills as a performer to teach young people the art of ensemble storytelling: how to make art using simply themselves, the space around them, their imaginations, and collaboration.

Sarah comes from a musical theatre background, and is a trained singer, dancer, and musician. She began digging deeper into the craft of acting as a teen, and has studied at institutions such as the British American Drama Academy in London, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in Boston, MA, the University of North Carolina School for The Arts, and more. She received in her B.A. in Theater at Boston College.

Sarah continues to study and practice dance, is a self-taught guitarist, and writes songs as hobby. She can make you a killer playlist and wants to go check out that band with you!

She loves to devise, collaborate, and experiment with other artists, and sincerely wants her art to make a difference in other people’s lives. She believes in the importance of using her power as an actor/creator to tell stories that have gone untold. She is especially passionate about bringing the female experience into the spotlight, and seeks work that will empower her and other women.

Sarah believes in having FUN and in taking her work, but not herself, too seriously! :)

Sarah lives in South Pasadena, California.
